"Photography is a powerful medium that evokes emotion when done well, like all good art. Although accidents happen, it takes skill to capture magical moments from our wonderful world on a consistent basis. I use composition, timing and natural light to create memorable images that are a little different from the "calendar shots" that seem to be everywhere these days.
Although I have shot a range of subjects over the years, my favorite images frame a slice in time that reveals innocence, transitioning light or spatial patterns of both man and nature. Whether heart-warming or tongue-in-cheek, I lean toward uncommon perspectives and positive samplings of our surroundings. In revealing these moments and the occasional unexpected twist--instead of using sex, violence or outrage as a crutch-- I hope to leave behind thoughtfulness and inspiration.
I have come to believe life and all that's in it is a gift given to us for a relatively brief time. We can alter it, but we'll never really own it and we truly are lucky to be here at all. So walk softly in "foreign" lands, recognize your transience on this Earth and the sacrifices made for you by others. Share your wisdom with the young, if you can get them to listen. That is the way to immortality and promotes our (Man's) evolving to something better. In the meantime, enjoy the view. "
